This Sunday, August 5th, Vancouver's longest-running spoken word/music open mic Thundering Word proudly features acclaimed storyteller Bryant Ross.
Bryant's wordsmithing talent reaches deep into the ancient tradition of oral history, grabs onto the gut-twisting truths and hard realities of human existence, and pulls up handfuls of simplesweet joy, unspeakable sorrow, and bright explosions of laughter. His hypnotizing, dynamic performance style leaves audience members aching with laughter, brushing off quiet tears of heartbreak, and pondering the blood and beauty of the human condition. Bryant was the 2009 Vancouver Storytelling champion, and has performed at countless events including the Under the Volcano Festival of Art and Social Change, the Vancouver International Storytelling Festival, and Main Street's Car Free Day.
Plus! As per Thundering Word's usual "ya never know what yer gonna get" format, the rest of the night will be a grab-bag of music, comedy, and poetry hosted by the unforgettable Bill McNamara.

It's stinker-hot -- dress comfy-cool and bring something to fan yourself with!
(Note: For those close to me who have somehow not yet caught Bryant onstage, he's that brick wall of brainy brilliance and beefcake often found beside my left shoulder, delighting those around him with poetically enrapturing narratives, his Granddad's witty one-liners, and the fine art of bullshittery.)
